ENTRY & REGISTRATION

🏆 Bayside: 2026 Handicap & Integrity Policy

1. The Foundation: Golf Canada Index

1. All players must maintain an active Golf Canada Index.

  • The 75% Rule: To ensure true skill is rewarded, all matches will be played using 75% of your official index.
  • The Ceiling: A Maximum Handicap of 14 is strictly enforced. If your 75% calculation exceeds 14, you will play as a 14.

 2. The "Sandbagger" Zero-Tolerance Policy

The Bayside Committee has implemented multiple proprietary checks to monitor scoring trends.

  • Automatic Penalty: Any player flagged for sandbagging will be assessed an immediate 3-stroke penalty for that day.
  • The Ban Hammer: Multiple offenses will result in a permanent ban from all future Bayside events.

 3. The "Winner’s Tax" (Index Adjustments)

Success comes with a temporary price to keep the field balanced:

  • Back-to-Back Top 3s: If you finish in the Top 3 for two consecutive weeks, you will be assessed a 1-stroke index reduction for the following week.
  • This adjustment lasts for one week only before resetting to your 75% Golf Canada Index.

SQUABBIT

1. Squabbit Account Setup

All league registration, scheduling, and live scoring will be handled exclusively through the Squabbit platform.

  • Create Your Account: Sign up on the Squabbit website.
  • Follow the Commissioner: Search for and follow Aadil Tharani within the app to ensure you receive league-specific event updates and notifications.
  • Download the App: Ensure you have the mobile app installed on your phone. This is critical, as you will be using your mobile device to input scores and manage your registrations while on the course.

2. Profile Verification

To finalize your league registration, please send a screenshot of your Squabbit profile page to aadiltharani@gmail.com. This helps the committee verify your account status and link your profile to the league database.

🕒 Bayside Cup & Matchplay Monday: Tee Time Balloting & Policy

To ensure all events run smoothly—and to make sure you actually get to play golf instead of fighting over a tee sheet—please abide by these rules.

  • The Ballot: I run the ballot two weeks prior to each play date. Just because you registered in Squabbit doesn't mean your name is automatically on the final ballot. If you don’t see your name on the tee sheet by the Wednesday before the event, reach out to me immediately. Don't wait until you're standing in the parking lot.
  • Keep Your Hands Off: During any Saturday or Monday featuring a Bayside or Matchplay event, do not touch or cancel anything on the tee sheet. If you’re not the Committee, you don't edit the sheet. Period.
  • The Exit Strategy: Need to bail? You must cancel your registration in Squabbit and notify me personally.
  • The Final Word: The tee sheet is considered "subject to change" until Friday evening (for Saturdays) or the evening before (for Mondays). Once it’s finalized, it’s locked.

⚠️ IMPORTANT VIOLATION NOTICE: > Let’s be clear: this isn’t a suggestion. Tampering with the tee sheet or going rogue is a serious violation of Bayside Cup/Matchplay Monday policy. You aren’t just messing with the sheet; you’re messing with someone else’s chance to play. Pull this stunt, and you’re looking at the immediate termination of your Bayside membership. Don’t test us.
